Humble Beginnings
In 2014, we launched Mr. Potato Spread as a delivery-only business, driven by a shared dream of working together, creating delicious food, and spending more time with our three growing kids: Breanna, Aaron II, and Zahria. With Aaron’s 20+ years of restaurant expertise and Lakita’s 15 years as a Fortune 50 Small Business Consultant, we poured our passion into building a brand from the ground up.
The Crab Pot Potato®
After months of testing and research, we decided that potatoes were extremely underrated and underutilized. It was important for us to offer something that felt like us, like home, but also could be enjoyed by the masses and so The Crab Pot Potato was born. Born and raised on the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida (DUUUUUUVALLLL!), we love and appreciated the love our city had for blue crabs and “crab pots.” These crab pots played such a huge role in our lives that we had to do what had never been done, put a crab pot in a potato! We shared this with our friends and family and they in turn shared it with social media and people lost it! It was then, we knew we had something!

More Than Just Potatoes
By 2016, we’d added our first food truck, bringing our unique loaded potato creations to festivals, events, and neighborhoods across Jacksonville. Our journey continued in 2019, expanding into brick-and-mortar locations where we eventually operated three restaurants alongside our food truck.
In 2024, after a decade of growth, milestones, and unforgettable connections, we made the choice to close our restaurants and focus solely on our food truck and catering services. This decision allows us to embrace more time with family while still serving up the flavors you love. Today, Mr. Potato Spread is on the road, bringing our loaded potatoes, signature spices, and sauces to you with the same heart and dedication as always.
